In dit kerstverhaal krijgt de jonge Clara een notenkraker in de vorm van een mannetje cadeau. Op een mysterieuze magische nacht gaat het speelgoed onder leiding van de notenkraker een hevige strijd aan met de vreselijke huismuizen. Geschrokken door de gebeurtenissen besluit Clara haar angsten onder ogen te zien en stort ze zich in de strijd, waarbij ze haar geliefde Notenkraker weet te redden. Ontroerd door haar moed en vervuld van dankbaarheid, verandert hij in Prince Charming en neemt Clara mee naar een sprookjesachtig koninkrijk. 
De Notenkraker, een groots ballet in twee bedrijven, werd in december 1892 voor het eerst aan het publiek gepresenteerd in het Mariinsky Theater in Sint-Petersburg. Vandaag de dag is het zonder twijfel nog steeds een van de meest uitgevoerde balletten ter wereld. Odette has fallen victim to the famous spell of the magician Rothbart: she turns into a swan during the day and becomes a woman again at night. Only the promise of eternal love can free her from this bewitchment. Siegfried promises Odette to marry her at the ball given in his honor. Will they escape the tricks of Rothbart and his daughter Odile? Will the Prince be able to save his bride? Created in 1875 by the Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, it was in 1895, with its revival by choreographer Marius Petipa that Swan Lake became the greatest classical success of all time. Between “Pas de deux,” romantic duets, and “Dance des Petits Cygnes,” the dancers will interpret this masterful work with elegance, accompanied by a renowned orchestra. Based on a collection of lyric poems, Carmina Burana was composed by Carl Orff between 1935 and 1936.
