Amsterdam, November 26, 2023 - Last Saturday in our Elicium Ballroom, the DNA Gala was organized to benefit the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital. This year the proceeds of the event will benefit the early diagnosis of cancer. With the help of many volunteers, sponsors and our Basement Chefs, guests were able to enjoy a spectacular dinner.
The Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital
The Antoni van Leeuwenhoek is the hospital and research institute specializing in cancer. Since its founding in 1913, the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek has combined the care of cancer patients with groundbreaking research.
Through early diagnosis, cancer can be detected earlier and appropriate treatment started earlier. This research method will radically change the detection and treatment of cancer in the future. This will ensure that fewer and fewer people will die from the effects of this grave disease. Studies indeed show that the earlier you detect cancer, the greater the chance of survival.
The DNA gala
The DNA gala gives this research into early diagnostics a fantastic start towards the future. Over 1.5 million euros was raised this evening.
Paul de Leeuw presented the evening and in addition there were several speakers present with all a beautiful and personal story. Sonny's Inc. Bigband and Edsilia Rombley provided great performances.
