Participants of Skills The Finals were surprised by a royal visit. On Friday, March 24th, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander made an appearance at the RAI, where (vocational) students competed for the prestigious title of Dutch Champion in their field of expertise. Ministers Dijkgraaf (Education, Culture and Science) and Wiersma (Primary and Secondary Education) were also present during the opening of the event.
Skills The Finals aims to inspire young people to choose vocational education and provides students with a valuable experience for future career opportunities. The importance of promoting vocational education is affirmed by the visit of the Dutch government.
The 2023 edition of this two-day event - and career orientation program - was spectacular, featuring a wide range of activities and demonstrations in fields such as technology, healthcare, and hospitality. 600 finalists competed in more than 50 challenges. The climax took place on Friday afternoon during the final competition. We congratulate all finalists, as well as the winners that will participate in the international vocational competitions during EuroSkills 2023 in GdaĆsk, Poland, in early September.
